The Man Behind the Makeup
A documentary short on Jerome Alexander and more than 50 years of teaching women to be their own makeup artists.
For more than fifty years, Jerome Alexander has had one mission: teaching women how to be their own makeup artists.
It started in 1968 with wigs. By 1970 Jerome had moved into cosmetics, and in 1976 he created his first professional makeup brush line. His book Be Your Own Makeup Artist followed in 1983, and before long he was sharing his techniques on national television and live shopping channels around the world.
In 2004 he developed the formula that became Magic Minerals, and in 2018, the brand's 50th year, he introduced the AirBrush Foundation. This short film tells the story of how it all happened.
