How’s your nighttime skincare routine?

Just like the rest of your body, your skin rests and recharges while you sleep. Jerome has a nighttime formula that can keep your skin healthy and fabulous. Help your skin stay clear of breakouts and dark circles with these 5 simple steps:

Remove Your Makeup

Quickly splashing your face with water doesn’t cut it when it comes to makeup removal. Use a cleanser and a washcloth to ensure your foundation, mascara, and every other product you used in the morning is wiped away. Following this process with a good toner helps to balance your skin’s pH, which helps your skin absorb your moisturizer even better. Like primer, toner is a highly underrated beauty product that can work wonders for your skin.

Moisturize Your Skin

It’s one of our most favorite steps in the skincare process, which is why our liquid products always include moisturizing ingredients. Use your favorite moisturizer and pile it on. Allow your skin a couple of minutes to absorb the moisture before hitting the sheets.

Use a Humidifier

Did you know humidifiers work with your moisturizer to produce added hydration for your skin? Your skin absorbs so much moisture throughout the night that you can go for a daytime moisturizer that’s lighter on your face.

Wrap Up Your Hair

Keeping your hair pinned back or even wrapped in a silk scarf can reduce breakouts in your skin. The oils and particles in your hair won’t be transferred to your face and clog your pores overnight, making it easier to maintain your clear skin.

Get Quality Beauty Sleep

This is a biggie! Due to all the health benefits that quality sleep provides, your beauty rest should be a top priority. Lack of sleep can actually worsen skin conditions and speed up the aging process. Sleep deprivation also causes dark circle under your eye, which can be tough to get rid of (although we came up with a quick and effective fix for the occasional late night.) According to the National Sleep Foundation, adults between the ages of 26-64 need between 7 -9 hours of sleep every night, and adults aged 65+ need 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Beauty rest is not just a cute saying, it’s an essential step in your skincare routine.
