How to Tweeze – the Right Way!

During the 90’s there was a beauty epidemic that swept the globe, leaving women’s eyebrows decimated in its wake: over-tweezing! Brows were thin and highly arched, looking artificial and unbalanced against the rest of the face. Thankfully, we learned our lesson, and brows grew back. Still, regular eyebrow maintenance is an important part of your beauty routine, and shouldn’t be foregone entirely. So what’s a girl to do? We’ve got your top five tweezing tips to save you money and spare you the embarrassment of another brow blunder!

Always wash the eyebrow and eye area first and dip tweezers in alcohol or boil them to remove any dirt or bacteria. This may seem unnecessary if you’re the only one using them, but trust us; anything to avoid infection is worth your time.

Never tweeze before going out! Redness, swelling, and irritation can occur, so save your big plans for another day.

Always use an ice cube to help numb the area. This helps counteract any swelling before it starts, and also keeps this a relatively pain-free practice.

Never tweeze brows from the top. Start at the bottom and work upward, one line at a time, until you reach the desired shape.

Always remember your geometry when tweezing. Your arches should start at the inner corner of your eyes, come to their highest point directly over the edge of your outer iris, and should finish along the imaginary line running from the corner of your nose to the outer edge of your eye.
