Eye makeup can enhance your whole look. You can play with certain colors to make your eyes stand out for special occasions or let your natural beauty shine through with natural tones. If you want to look your best, follow these easy tips:
Lift the Eyes
To reshape the eyes and give them a slightly upturned look, apply eyeliner from the beginning to the end of the eyelid, but rather than following the natural line, make the line peak upward on the latter part of the last third of the eyelid. Now, place your finger at the end of the brow bone. You should be able to feel an indentation. When blending the eyeliner with a brush or sponge-tipped applicator, blend upward at the end of the brow bone into that definition, toward the eyebrow. Then, almost erase the line with a sponge-tipped applicator, leaving only a slight shadow. This will create an illusion of the eyes having an upturned look.
Enlarge the Eyes
To make any size eye appear larger, but small eyes in particular, line the waterline of the lower lid with a light blue pencil. The blue acts like a mirror for the whites of the eyes. This illusion makes the whites of the eyes appear both whiter and larger, which in turn makes the entire eye appear larger. The beauty of this makeup trick is that it works on all eyes shapes, eye colors, skin colors, and age groups.
Avoid Mascara Messes
The trick to using mascara without smearing product on the inside of your nose or your brow bone is to first remove the excess mascara that forms a glob on the tip of the wand. Before beginning to apply mascara, simply wipe the excess on a tissue.
Blend your eyeshadow so the definitive lines of each shade disappear. You shouldn’t be able to tell where one shade ends and the other begins.
Soften the Look
Don’t use black mascara unless you are going for a specific dramatic look. Instead, consider an off-black, brown/black, or brown shade of mascara.
Once your eyes are looking fabulous, complete your look with the perfect lipstick for your complexion.
